Don’t Go Camping without These Essentials!

Don’t Go Camping without These EssentialsHeading on a hike? Don’t leave home without these must-haves.

Everyone knows to bring a tent and a sleeping bag when they camp, but common items are continually overlooked, especially by a camping novice. Now that the summer is right around the corner, many are prepping their tents and blow-up mattresses for the camping season that is ahead!

While you’re packing your solar iPhone charger and sound machine, be sure to add these to your backpack!

Matches. What is camping without a fire to sit around? While there will be plenty of kindling to start your fire, not everyone is a gold star Camp Scout. Matches make lighting fires stress-free, quick, and easy!

Blankets. The temperature can rapidly drop once the sun has set. Taking thermal blankets will allow you to stay warm while you’re camping underneath the starry skies and on the cold ground. There is no prize for being the tough guy who roughs it with no mattress and no blankets.

Water. Nothing ruins a camping trip faster than dehydration, except for drinking contaminated water and being thrown out of the camping ground for throwing up loudly at 2 a.m. Bring water.

Cooler. Unless you want to eat processed foods all weekend long, you’ll want to bring food that requires refrigeration. In turn, a cooler will be needed to keep these foods, well, cool.

First aid kit. Things like sunburn, cuts, bug bites, and scratches are bound to happen when you’re exploring and living in the wilderness for multiple days. Everything from Band-Aids to gauze to antiseptic cream and aloe vera gel is essential!
